Activity Description: The mission of the CFMRI is to provide state-of-the-art MRI technologies to the UCSD research community. Unique among MRI resources at UCSD, the CFMRI is committed to serving a wide range of investigators from all departments and institutions, from the most junior investigator to the most senior faculty member. As the primary MRI research core resource at UCSD, the CFMRI makes MRI resources accessible to a diverse range of UCSD researchers using processes that emphasize fairness, equity, and transparency. Towards that end, the CFMRI spends considerable time and resources educating and training the community in the safe and optimal use of MRI technologies. The CFMRI is also committed to partnering with other efforts to promote and enhance the role of MR imaging in both basic and translational research.

Activity Description: The Center for Translational Imaging and Precision Medicine's mission is to develop next-generation technologies in medical imaging and analysis, test their efficacy for clinical practice, and make them available to physicians and their patients. By supporting this direct link between research and the clinic, CTIPM helps physicians gain access to the most advanced imaging tools available to support patient care.

Activity Description: The UC San Diego Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging Division offers leading-edge imaging of the spine and joints. Radiography, ultrasound, MRI and CT scanning provide detailed anatomy of structures to detect and evaluate diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Advanced imaging techniques provide additional insight into physiology, chemistry, physical structure, and function. The division is led by world-class faculty who are experienced in all aspects of MSK disease.

Activity Description: Clinical radiologists review images acquired during a research protocal for any abnormality that may require un-blinding of the research subject's identity either to establish the finding is chronic and unchanged, or may require clinical evaluation.
