Purpose of Appointment |
Teach the application of clinical and basic sciences to UCSD medical students, residents or fellows, primarily in a clinical setting. Teaching typically occurs in a non-UCSD facility (e.g., private practice, Kaiser hospital, etc.) |

These appointments are not the same as faculty appointed at the VA and fluctuating up to 150% total effort, between the VA and UCSD.
These appointments are not the same as a faculty member who requests a transitional one-year non-salaried appointment since they are leaving the University and need to complete obligations, e.g. grant activities, thesis committees, etc. Typically, this appointment would be an Adjunct series appointment, Without Salary (or WOS) appointment.
