In order for academic review files to be processed in the most efficient manner, they must be submitted by the specified deadlines below in order to receive necessary adminsitrative reviews.

VCHS Request Lead Times

To ensure timely processing, please follow the minimum recommended lead times below when submitting personnel actions:

Academic Appointments

Delegated Authority: submit at least 2 months ahead of start date.

Committee Review required: submit at least 3 months ahead of start date. 

Chancellor Authority: submit at least 4 months ahead of start date.

Academic Reviews

Submit according to the established annual review deadlines (above).

Compensation Requests

APU Change Requests are due May 1st.

OnlineZ Submission Deadlines may vary

Exceptions to Policy Submit at least 6 months ahead of the proposed effective date.
Layoffs/Involuntary Reductions in Time

Consider notice period requirements by bargaining unit or senate membership.

Leaves of Absence

Submit at least one quarter in advance of the leave start date. 

Recall to Active Duty Submit at least 3 months prior to the proposed start date.
Senate Voluntary Reductions in Time (excluding Ladder Rank)

Submit at least 2 months in advance of the proposed effective date. 

Voluntary/ Non-Salaried Faculty

New Appointments: submit at least 2 months in advance of the start date.

Reappointments or promotions: submit at least 1 month in advance.
