Prior to Hire

Welcome to UC San Diego, Health Sciences! We are pleased you have accepted a position with us! This page provides important information prior to your start date.

Prior to your start date, you will should expect to receive an email request from the Academic Resource Center’s (ARCrequest@health.ucsd.edu) Human Resource Management Team, to request completion of new hire onboarding documents through DocuSign. The secure completion of new hire documents include a personal data gathering form,  voluntary self-identification forms, and a state mandated notification and acknowledgment.

You will receive an invitation to attend an in-person onboarding where you will be asked to present documents which confirm your legal right to work in the US.  A list of acceptable documents can be found here as well as sign several documents requiring original signature.  Our weekly onboarding sessions occur on Wednesday's from 7:30-3pm.

NOTE: The completion of the Docusign new hire documents and in-person onboarding must be done on or prior to your start date to ensure an on time start date. Having the correct employment documentation with you during the in-person onboarding is also critical to ensuring an on time start date.

Communicate with your department and the Academic Resource Center (ARC) representative if there are any changes to your start date.
