Multimedia Services

Multimedia is an integral tool in supporting UC San Diego’s brand.

Photography and videography services are provided to Health Sciences schools, centers and institutes as well as administrative units with the Office of the Vice Chancellor. When taking your own photos please follow UC San Diego Photo and Video Best Practices.

Health Sciences Communications maintains a comprehensive Media Gallery featuring high-resolution photos and video content of our community in various spaces on and off campus.

(NOTE: Invite-only galleries are available to Health Sciences communications leads and include photos specific to each school, center/institute or unit. To request access to photos in your unit-specific gallery contact your local communicator.)

Usage Guidelines

  • Photos and video content from the Health Sciences Media Gallery can be used by Health Sciences employees for print, online and presentation purposes. Photo and video content may not be used for personal projects unrelated to the university.
  • Avoid using photos of activities or groups unrelated to the topic of your communication.
  • Reproduction rights for images from the Media Gallery are granted only for noncommercial use that markets, promotes or supports the University of California San Diego. Copyright of images from the Media Gallery is retained by the Board of Regents of the University of California unless noted otherwise. The statement should appear as: “Copyright ©️the Board of Regents of the University of California.”
  • Include the credit line noted with the image when used in editorial vehicles (e.g., UC San Diego Today, Discoveries magazine, etc.) or external media. A credit line is not needed when publishing images from the Media Gallery on UC San Diego school or department websites.

Photography and Video Services

University Communications provides photo and video production offered as recharge services to UC San Diego academic and administrative departments at a rate of $175 per hour.
