Travel Grants

Overview

The Academy of Clinician Scholars (AoCS) offers travel grants to support Health Science Clinical Series Faculty attending scholarly meetings. Applications are accepted year-round, but must be submitted and approved before the conference start date. Funds will not be awarded retroactively.

Award Details

Award Amount: Up to $750 (for standard economy airfare and/or registration fees; documentation required)
Frequency: One trip every other fiscal year (July 1 – June 30)
Travel: Domestic or international conferences

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Applicants:

• Health Sciences Clinical Series Faculty (MD or DO)
• Accepted abstract to a scientific professional society conference
• Not a member of the Academic Senate
• First or senior author on an oral or poster presentation of original clinical research
• Chair verification of greater than 50% clinical FTE

Not Eligible:

• Invited lectures
• Workshops, panel or moderator invitations
• Postgraduate or supplemental education courses
• Business or first-class ticket
• Tenure-track and tenured professors
• In-Residence professors
• Professors of Clinical X
• Lecturers with SOE or PSOE
• Faculty on MSP contracts
• Adjunct Series

Additional Notes:

• Preference will be given to those invited to give oral presentations on new research topics not funded by any existing grants and/or those not be funded directly by the conference.

Required Documents

Combine the following documents into a single PDF:

1. Completed Application Form (Word Doc)
2. Verification letter from Department Chair or Division Chief confirming >50% clinical FTE (Word Doc)
3. Copy of abstract
4. Copy of abstract acceptance letter
5. Airfare quote from a travel agency
6. Registration fee receipt or invoice
